Color wheels were popular back in the 1960's for lighting aluminum christmas trees. The Color Wheel 2.0 by treetronics is a modern LED version of this classic holiday DECORATION.

The color wheel from the 1960s had a projection light with a motorized rotating color disc. These traditional wheels were used to bounce a solid spectrum of light off an aluminum tree. TREETRONICS hopes to improve on this vintage model with a modern Version that supports many lighting modes, effects and includes a remote control.

Typically, the color wheel was placed on the floor near the tree and shone upward on the branches. The spinning panel created a constant variety of effects on the reflective surface of the tree. Color Wheels became very popular in the 1960s due to their space-age atomic design and because traditional string lights were a fire hazard on aluminum trees.

"We are very excited to release our new Color Wheel 2.0," said Co-Founder Zach Wilson.

"Mid-Century Modern decor is so hot right now – especially for christmas items. It's important for us to keep up with the trend by providing new ways to make your holiday decorations sparkle."

Unlike the older models, Wilson said the TREETRONICS Color Wheel 2.0 is more compact, brighter, supports many different color settings, has brightness options and comes with a wireless remote control. It is also more energy efficient.

"There is definitely a large demand for vintage inspired products- especially for aluminum trees, where traditional string lights can't be used," said Co-Founder Drew French.

The Color Wheel 2.0 is the first of many products planned to be released in 2015-2016 by TREETRONICS.
